Hey y’all…Jenn and I can’t thank you enough for all of your kind words and sweet prayers for my dad’s recovery. We appreciate your post comments, emails and notes. It means more to us than we can express. I will be spending the next couple of days at my dad’s house and plant to read him all of your well wishes! On the home front I have temporarily stalled with new projects. I have a to-do list a mile long and ideas for days. Really good ideas LOL. I just need a mini-break to recapture my creative mojo. Until then, here are the details for one of my recent furniture makeovers. This makeover is a painted table with Amy Howard One Step.
Over nine years ago I gave this table its buttery yellow finish. It was time for an update to go with my new relaxed lake house style. I love the architectural curves and design of the legs.
I’ve used Amy Howard at Home® One Step Paint™ In French Blue. I’ve used this color on many projects like this sunroom table, this trash-to-treasure table and this craft project. It is a pretty soft blue that looks more gray. For this little table I used two light coats.
I added a light streaky coat of dark wax to the final coat of paint. The side table with its new finish looks great in the sunroom.
Last weekend Jenn were able to carve out some time to do a bit of thrifting and shopping. We made the pilgrimage to some of our fave thrifting haunts and added some new-to-us shopping spots. We were thrilled to find the large bee pitcher. We gifted one to each other to commemorate the day! I couldn’t wait to get home and add these gorgeous sunflowers to mine. To me, sunflowers just scream Summertime. I see them everywhere I go now…growing in the country as well as inside the city.
Y’all know I love my antique inkwells and feathers. This particular inkwell is made from very thin glass and is called a “tipper”. It is tipped to make reaching the ink easier. This one dates from the late 1800’s.
I am super happy that I made the decision to paint the tables and to use this paint color. The One Step paint goes on so light and smooth and offers great coverage.
Today will be our Friday this week. We will see you back here on Monday.
Have a wonderful weekend…
