Hey y’all…A fun and easy way to personalize your home is by decorating with signs and typography. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to make. You can paint, write or print your favorite sayings and quotes and use them in different ways around your home.
Over the years I have created lots of painted signs and artwork quotes. Here are just a few of my favorite ways to use and display them in my home.
Last year after a beach vacation I couldn’t wait to get home and create a coastal inspired guest bedroom. This “ahh…” sign summed up exactly how I felt when I looked out on the sand and ocean.
This rope and burlap beach canvas was very simple to make. The embellishments of beach glass and shells are mementos collected from morning walks along the shore.
The arrow points the way to our beloved Lake Oconee with this rustic DIY sign.
Honey Bee and I entertain a lot in our home. The dining room got a bit of a refreshed look. I made this Wine List sign to hold dinner menus and wine selections so that our guests know what to expect when they visit.
I always have a song in my heart – and on my lips. My latest obsession is with Adele and her fabulous song “Hello”. It inspired us to create this sign which was then the catalyst for our Ikea Telephone Rast Hack.
Motivational and Fun Quotes
These are the types of sayings and phrases I like to place on nightstands, desk tops and shelves. They make me smile and can be at times thought provoking. I created two framed pieces by printing graphics and quotes on vintage book pages.
This quote is a framed card from a friend. I display this in the dining room.
Right now I can’t get that old tune “sign, sign everywhere a sign” out of my head. I hope that you’re inspired to add some signage or typography to your home.
Love this great roundup Vicki! You prove large or small signs make a big impact. Love your creativity lady, hugs, CoCo
These are all so great! You’re so creative and always come up with the most unique decor ideas.
Oh my goodness I am so inspired by all of your vintage signs! I have always liked the look of vintage signs, but have been afraid to buy one because it might clash with my rustic decor. However, your use of the “lake” sign is absolutely genius. I’m going to keep this in mind next time I redecorate!
Your “Hello” inspiration produced a beautiful sign. It’s an interesting twist that you say there’s a song in your heart when that in itself is the title of a song.
