Laundry Closet Makeover Reveal

Today we are so excited to show you our laundry closet makeover reveal! Last Monday we showed you the before and during process of having an existing closet built out in order to accommodate a washer & dryer. ย We hadn’t anticipated when we purchased our home that it would be such a nightmare to install a washer & dryer, but I guess it comes with the territory of being a home owner ๐Ÿ™‚ ย We are so happy with the outcome, though, and are so excited to show you how the project turned out!ย This post contains affiliate links.ย

To jog your memory, this is what the closet looked like before we got started…

This closet got made over into laundry room. The result is amazing.

Then this is what the space looks like today…

We can keep the laundry closet hidden with these two folding doors. They also take up less space.

And here how the interior of the closet looks…

it goes to show that you can turn a small space into something incredibly useful. So thrilled with the outcome of our laundry closet makeover.

It’s a small space, but we have some great shelves to help with storage and really maximize the space.

Staying organized was partly the motivation behind the laundry closet makeover. With the custom shelves, stackable unit, and other elements, this small space makes a big impact.

We utilized all of the space in our laundry closet by adding these custom shelves. It is perfect for holding towels, linens, and cleaning supplies.

We had these custom shelves made for the closet and wanted to make the most of the laundry space. Using this industrial basket helps to keep organized.

I love this glass bottle I found on clearance at TJ Maxx for only $2…I thought it was perfect to hold our liquid detergent! You can find one similar here.

We found this glass bottle at TJ Maxx and thought it would be perfect to for holding liquid detergent. It's a great addition to the laundry closet makeover.

For this makeover, we wanted to keep things clean. We used a clear jar and filled it with detergent. And since we love mason jars, we thought it would be great s laundry scoop.

I found this galvanized bucket at a salvage yard and thought it would be the perfect waste basket for the dryer sheets. ย I’m using a napkin holder for the box of dryer sheets (we love Mrs. Meyer’s) and think it turned out so cute if I do say so myself.

Since this laundry closet is a small space, this galvanized bucket is the perfect size. Plus, it's the best place to put dryer lint.

We used a napkin holder in our laundry closet to make things a little more easy when doing laundry. And we absolutely love Mrs. Meyer's products, especially lavender.

Another great find I got at TJ Maxx were these Max Studio towels…I love the pattern and they are so soft and fluffy.

The towels by Max Studio are perfect for the Laundry Closet. And they are in two of our favorite colors, gray and white.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I got this perfect sign at HomeGoods for a steal ๐Ÿ™‚ You can find a similar laundry sign here.ย

When we found this laundry sign at HomeGoods, we new it would be perfect for the laundry closet makeover. Such an awesome find!

I really wanted to maximize the space, so I added a cute print and this awesome hanging accessory that is great for hang drying clothes.

The laundry closet is small, but we wanted to incorporate a little character into the space. We decided to use a little bit of color to brighten it up, as well as this great coat hanger we got from the Country Living Fair.

Another great deal from you know where that is great for our laundry basket…Hereย are similar baskets to the one I found.ย

This great basket, which is industrial in style, is from HomeGoods. It is perfect for the small space of the laundry closet.

Mom had this print in her old laundry room and wasn’t using it anymore…I’ve always loved it and thought it added a pop of color. ย I had to add a crepe myrtle bloom since it mirrors the color in the print…so beautiful!

By incorporate some fresh flowers, or I should say branch from our create myrtle, it just adds a little pop of color to our laundry closet makeover. And we loved being able to use this vintage print.

I know this sounds a bit odd, but finally having a washer & dryer has been life changing. ย Up until now, I didn’t fully realize how much time we were wasting on the weekends with going to the laundromat. ย It is so nice to be able to do laundry in the comfort of our home.

To complete the look of the laundry closet makeover, we used items from HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, Country Living Fair, Home Depot, and Mrs. Meyers. We couldn't have asked for a better outcome to this project for our home.

We hope you all love the reveal as much as we do. ย We’d love to hear any of your laundry room fiascos…I know a lot of us have them ๐Ÿ™‚

By using a small closet, we slightly built it out and turned it into a small laundry closet. We are thrilled with the outcome of this small space.

Thanks for your sweet comment! It’s amazing what can be created from desperation ๐Ÿ™‚ By not having a laundry area for so long – it gave us a lot of time to plan the laundry closet.

Are those stackable washer and dryers or did you just take your washer and dryer and put it on top of each other?

      Hey Angie!

Can’t thank you enough for your kind comments. It was definitely a labor of love. Never thought we would be so happy to do laundry ๐Ÿ™‚

This is what we are going to do. Moving our washer & dryer from basement to our small closet up stairs. How did you vent the dryer?

    • Mona says

Hi Elizabeth, We just had our stackable washer and dryer delivered yesterday. They sell stacking kits at appliance stores for around $70. The stacking rails are secured to the top of the washer and then the feet of the dryer are secured in the stacking rails.

Beautiful job!! Do you have more info about the shelves? We’ve just bought a house with a laundry closet and I would love to add some permanent shelves instead of the smallish closed cupboard that is there now. Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

Hey ladies. I’d love to do this for my mom so she doesn’t have to travel up and down the stairs for the current laundry room. How did you and who did you use to establish water and electricity hook ups for the washer and dryer? . Thanks.
