Hey y’all…hope your week is off to a good start.
Speaking of good starts…Jennifer and I were fortunate to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity this past Saturday in Atlanta. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit housing organization, building simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with people in need.
We were part of a group of local Atlanta area bloggers representing “Hands of Haven”. For the past 2 years the Haven Conference (and the bloggers who attended) have partnered with Habitat for Humanity and participated in a Habitat house build.
We were very impressed with how organized team leaders were and how quickly projects came together on the homesite. We got to interact with the future homeowner – she was highly involved with the home building as well as her extended family members. It was a thrill for us to be a small part of making her dream home a reality.
Our hard work was so rewarding – it was amazing to stand back and see just how much work was accomplished in a day. We were thrilled to put our mad skills as DIYers to good use 🙂 for such a deserving family.
Look at that gorgeous blue sky…the weather Gods were definitely on our side 🙂
Bobbi of Bluwaterlife and I worked on the deck and side porch…
Jennifer made hard work look effortless – especially on the lower rungs. Lord knows, I couldn’t have done it 🙂
It was fun working with Rhoda of Southern Hospitality too…
End of the work day…with Bobbi
Donna of Sweet Things painting under the deck …
You can see how much progress was made…
We are so envious of this fabulous tool and equipment trailer 🙂 We would love to have this at our homes!
One of our great leaders…Sean.
Work day over and we are still smiling. We are so grateful for the opportunity to partner with such a wonderful organization…Habitat for Humanity makes dreams come true.

If you ever have an opportunity to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, you should jump at the chance. You do not have to have any previous experience and they willingly train you on the spot. Another great way to help is by shopping at a ReStore Habitat for Humanity. The merchandise varies at each store location. You can find light fixtures, furniture, appliances, tools, etc.
We are so happy that we got to be a very small part in helping this family have a Good Start in their new home, creating new memories for years to come.
You guys have such big hearts! It’s one of my favorite things about you 🙂 Great job helping others and representing Atlanta’s finest!
Thank you CoCo-
We were so humbled to work for such a worthy cause and family!
Hi Ladies! Spending time with ya’ll made the experience even better! I am ready to do it again! Hope to see ya’ll soon.
