Hey y’all…as 2015 winds down it is a great time to reflect and think about all of the wonderful things that happened during the year. I really made an effort to concentrate on all of the good and positive events in my life, no matter how small they were.
Last year at this time I made a Rememberlutions Jar. You can read all about it HERE. It’s basically a jar that you personalize and you collect memories in for the entire year. Today, I will be creating another jar for 2016.
I started with a basic quart-sized Mason jar.
I gathered tags, stencils and ribbons for decoration…
The alphabet vinyl stickers were an easy way to add a Word of the Year. Mine was “Leap”.
Then I added meaningful embellishments. I added a strand of photos of special people in my life. I also added a skeleton key from my grandmother.
Now for the update! I am very proud to say that I faithfully filled my jar to the brim with meaningful tidbits. Like the wine cork from our Valentine’s dinner…
It was so much fun yesterday to empty my jar and read all of the positive notes that I wrote of wonderful happenings…special phone calls with dear friends, wedding announcements, births of babies and visits from friends.
This is a sweet, handmade Valentine from an elderly friend…
A gifted concert ticket to Fleetwood Mac…
Tickets to the opera and numerous movie theatre ticket stubs. I also had plane tickets and travel itineraries.
It was a delightful look back at what a fabulous year 2015 was. I was amazed at how much I had done and remember how much fun I had. I hope you create a jar and collect your own memories! I can’t wait to see what 2016 brings!
What a fun trip down memory lane! I love that you keep a jar filled with your memories. It’s been an awesome year for you this year and I can’t wait to see what’s in store next year 🙂 Hugs, CoCo
I absolutely LOVE this idea. Our lives are so busy and cluttered sometimes that it’s hard to remember what you did yesterday. What a wonderful way to honor the passing year and create a little time capsule for years to come. Wishing I had started this year’s ago. I can’t wait to start this in 2016.
Happy New Year, 2 Bees! 🎉🎉 Bambi
How do you make those burlap flowers?
