Take a little tour of my living room in the new house! Love the open concept, as well as all of the natural light and tall ceilings.

It’s hard to believe that we have lived in our new home for almost four months! The time sure is flying by, part of which has to do with an adorable baby bee. When we first moved in, the living room in the new house was one of the first rooms to be decorated. I would have shown you the living room much earlier, but we were debating an issue that I am sure a lot of you can relate to. What to do about the TV?!

You see, I have never liked an exposed television and have always kept it hidden. In the old house, I used a painted armoire to hide the TV. However, in this house there was no getting around it. It had to go above the mantel, which I was honestly dreading. For me, mantels have always been a place to display decorations. Plus, our television that we had looked teeny tiny up on the mantel haha. We knew we needed to get a new one. And the only option for me was the Samsung Frame TV. You can use art from their gallery so it blends into your decor. How perfect is that? I absolutely love it!

The TV just blends in soooo well with the decor. And I love that I can change up the art when I want to, especially with the changing of the seasons and holidays. Mom was so impressed when she came over and saw it for the first time. It also has a really thin frame and sits right up against the wall, so it doesn’t stick out.

The furniture in our living room is what we had in our old home and it works for us for now. Down the road we might look at getting a larger rug or maybe a sectional. These swivel chairs are our favorites and were such a great deal. Of course we also have our coffee table, which we’ve had for years and it is one of my favorite pieces. Not going to lie, I’m a little nervous about the heavy metal edges of the table once Everett starts walking around. But we will cross that bridge when we get to it.

We have a beautiful limelight hydrangea bush that produces amazing blooms. We’ll be sharing a post later this week on an easy way to make a floral arrangement.

This home has great built-in bookshelves that are so much fun to style. We’ll also be sharing a more in depth post this week on the built-ins 🙂

I just love how much natural light the living room gets. Even on a rainy day there is so much light that comes through the windows. It’s also an open concept, which I have been loving. An open concept is certainly new to me, but with having Everett now, it makes things a lot easier. Are you a fan of an open concept, or prefer more rooms throughout your home?

I hope you enjoyed the tour of my living room in the new house. Things are slowly coming together and I hope I can show you more of the house soon. We just ordered chairs for the dining room table and they arrive this week. Can’t wait!
