Can you believe it is already October?! Where in the world did September go? I have to say though, October is one of my favorite months. It means cooler temps will finally be here. It also means that Halloween is near. And although I love the holiday, from scary movies to yummy treats, I’ve actually never really decorated for it in my adult years. But having a son has changed all of that and I have completely embraced it. I’m not going totally crazy, but I definitely added some Halloween living room decor. I am sharing my spooky ideas with you today to commemorate the first day of October.

Halloween Decor on a Budget

Although I knew I wanted to add a little bit of Halloween decor into my home this year, I also didn’t want to spend a ton of money. Everything I used for my Halloween living room decor was either made, from the dollar store, or on sale. Also, when I decorated my living room for fall I wanted to make sure that I could easily transition the decor to Halloween as well. Keeping all of my fall decor in place, I sprinkled in my spooky ideas around what was already there.

I’ve been wanting to get these bats, that honestly it seems like everyone has, but they are just so cute! Luckily there was a sale going on at Jane.com and I was able to snag these for pretty cheap. I’m only wishing I had bought more.

For the books, I used stamps to create this phrase and then wrapped them in rafia. It’s one of our favorite little craft projects to do. I will be sharing more on that next week.

The eyes were a dollar store find and I added them to small mason jars I had.

These fake spiders were also dollar store finds. They only had two of the tarantula style left, but wishing they had had more.

These spooky signs were also at the dollar store. You honestly can’t beat it and I know I will get great use out of these for future Halloween’s.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again…I love our frame tv! I was easily able to switch up the artwork for a more spooky vibe.

Halloween Decor Inspo

It honestly was simple touches to make our home a little more spooky. And I am sure as the years go by and Everett gets older, we’ll be incorporating more Halloween decor throughout. But for now, I think this is a good place to start. We’ll do a couple more little things here and there, so stay tuned.
