I am so excited to show y’all my Fall mantel. Fall has officially exploded in my house and I couldn’t be happier. The vanilla and vetiver candles are burning, the orange and vanilla spice boil is steaming on the stove and pumpkins of every color and variety are displayed all over the house! This is my first official Fall in my home and I wanted the mantel to look different than any previous Fall mantel that I have previously decorated.
Today I have partnered with a great group of 28 bloggers. We will be presenting a Fall Ideas Tour all week. You don’t want to miss it! You can follow along each day of the week. So…sit back and relax – today is all about Fall Mantel’s.
Now, this is true confession time. My original fall mantel was almost completely decorated. But, I went out on an adventure hunt with my
partner in crime friend Linda and I found an antique tobacco basket! The price was too good to pass up and I just had to have it as the focal point for my fall mantel. I came home and immediately took all of the previous stuff off of the mantel and I started over. It was so worth it y’all!
Isn’t it just beautiful? I realize it is a tad ridiculous to get excited about a large tobacco basket. This basket represents so many wonderful memories of my childhood and summertime visits to see my great aunt Grace and great uncle Bossy. They lived on a farm in North Carolina and I spent a vast amount of time in their smokehouse. It was a cool spot to read a book while avoiding the summer heat and it smelled so good. Tobacco baskets just like this hung throughout the smokehouse. Oh how I wish I had one of their baskets.
Even though this basket looks a little tattered and worn, it is in very good shape. I added my Easy DIY Wreath to the center of it.
I kept the canoe and vintage cobalt bottles on the mantel. I just moved everything around a bit until I was happy with the overall look.
The adorable rusty owl was purchased at a roadside stand.
The “Fall Y’all” banner was an easy and inexpensive DIY project. The denim triangles were .90 cent clearance items from the craft store. I used iron-on letters – it doesn’t get much easier than that LOL. I added the triangles to the felted garland with miniature clothespins.
Did you see the Fall Centerpiece that I created last week? Everything blends so well together.
Vintage cobalt blue bottles are some of my favorite things to collect.
My sweet friend Debra was very kind and hauled pumpkins all the way home for me from North Carolina…thanks Debra!
The vintage bushel basket vignette was a happy accident. I was trying to figure out how to display pumpkins inside of it. I had just taken the summertime wreath off of the front door – and it fit perfectly on top of the basket.
I love this look way more than if I had filled the basket with pumpkins.
I hope that you like my Fall mantel as much as I do! Don’t forget to visit the other bloggers and see their creative ideas!

I love that you used an unexpected color, blue, in your fall display. Blue looks so pretty with the pumpkins your friend brought to you and also with the browns in the tobacco basket and owl. Speaking of your tobacco basket, I love it! I’ve always wanted one and need to make a point of trying to find one.
