If you are looking forĀ literally the easiest dessert recipe you’ll ever make, you have come to the right place! This easy dump cake recipe is my typical go-to when we have company over, going to a friend’s house, or if I just want something yummy. Ā It’s what we like to call a gooey dessert and we love it š
All you need is 3 – 4 ingredients and the prep time is only about 5 minutes. Ā How could it not be any easier?
I had dad over this past weekend for Father’s Day and I knew this was the perfect dessert to make. Ā He loves blueberries and while I like them in muffins and scones, I do not typically like them otherwise. Ā But, I do love apples and of course it can’t be all about dad, haha, so I decided to make half of the dump cake with blueberries and the other half with apples. Ā You just need to get the pie filling you prefer, which you can find on the baking aisle.
Ingredients
- 2 cans of pie filling - it can be any flavor you like
- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1 stick of butter
- Pecans to sprinkle on top (optional)
Instructions
First you will preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Then you will add the pie filling to a 9x13 pan.
After this, you will sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over pie filling.
You will then cut the butter into slices and place along the top of the cake mix.
Then you can sprinkle pecans on top if you would like.
Put it in the oven and let it bake for about 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve with ice cream or whipped cream š

Traditionally you also put pecans on top, but I do not care for them. Ā My mom always wonders how I was raised in the South and don’t like pecans. I wonder that too sometimes!
Doesn’t this just look delish?
You will not be disappointed when you make this recipe. Ā I love it when it’s warm, fresh out of the oven and add some vanilla bean ice cream…you can’t go wrong!
Dump cake is one of my favorites! We eat the cherry and pineapple version all the time
