Remember a few weeks ago I shared with y’all my great craft flower deal from Target?
I still can’t believe that four flowers were only 50 cents 🙂 I used them on my Spring table found here.
I wanted to make Easter gifts and decided to create photo frames incorporating more of the colorful craft flowers. I went to Michael’s Crafts to find photo frames that I could paint. I took Honey Bee with me so that he could use a separate 50% off coupon at checkout 🙂
I found MDF frames that were perfect. The frame holds a 4×6 photo and there is extra space for flower placement. They were $4.99 each minus the coupon – so a total of $5.00 for both. The flat overlay frames were in my craft stash…they were originally .99 cents at Hobby Lobby and I used 40% off coupons to purchase those.
I gathered my brightly colored paints….
I lightly sanded the frames before I applied paint.
I didn’t realize that the glass frame insert was glued into place. I therefore needed to tape it off before I began to paint.
Let the painting begin 🙂 I painted the large frame a bright Kelly green…
…I then painted the overlay frame a beautiful blue.
After both frames were completely dry, I glued the top frame onto the bottom frame.
I cut coordinating scrapbook paper for the glass insert…
…and applied the felt craft flowers.
I love how this project turned out – so cheerful.
I used the same process for the second frame.
The felt flowers give the frame definition.
Have you made any Springtime or Easter gifts? This was a very easy and quick project. Give it a try 🙂
