Hey y’all…I don’t know if I have Spring Fever or what, but I’ve been like the Energizer Bunny at my house. Right now I am in the middle of several projects! I’m painting furniture, creating an art installation for my bedroom, sewing pillows and I just completed a closet makeover. I’m making some seasonal craft decor too. Today I want to share with you one of the craft projects – an easy DIY moss bunny art piece.
You already know my obsession love for all things moss and this easy project is no exception. I gathered up:
- an aged piece of wood
- sheet moss
- festive ribbon
- scissors
- glue
I found a bunny design that I liked by looking online. I drew a free-hand outline on the backside of the sheet moss. Because I wanted the bunny to have a 3D effect, I cut out two bunny patterns and adhered them on top of each other. Remember, cutting moss is a little messy as it frays on the edges.
I used my new favorite glue, Titebond III. It takes about 30 minutes to dry and it really keeps everything intact. I placed a small amount in the center of the board and then laid the cutouts on top.
This adorable polka dot ribbon is the perfect accessory. I fashioned a bow and placed it on the bunny’s neckline.
Within just a few minutes this sweet project was complete.
For now bunny looks super cute on the mantel, but I know I will move her to another room soon 🙂
Can I just express how happy I am that peonies are back in season! They are so beautiful and fragrant.
Tarnished silver is one of my go-to decor elements. It can be used in casual design or more formal decor.
I’m thinking about making a second art piece with an egg shaped cutout. You know, because I don’t have enough projects going on right now 🙂
Until tomorrow,
So adorable! And I love that ribbon! Only 18 more days until spring!
We’re ready for it Karen 🙂
Great project! I feel Spring is already here.
Thanks John! It’s cooling off again here this week, but then this weekend is supposed to be beautiful.
