Y’all know how much we love to paint furniture, but I have been procrastinating with painting this dresser for our bedroom. To be honest, the reason why I kept putting it off was because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to paint this piece of furniture. It was in fairly good shape, just a few marks here and there, and we got a great deal on it from a friend of a friend, who was cleaning out her basement. I felt guilty for wanting to paint this dresser, since it had been a piece of furniture that had been cared for. But at the end of the day, it just didn’t fit with my aesthetic and I made the decision to just go for it.Ā Plus the aged wood was starting to look a little orange in color.

I, naturally, decided to paint it with Paris Grey chalk paint, my favorite color. I had thought about staining it or distressing it, butĀ I really liked the simplicity of just keeping it grey.

Some of you may be saying, “Why did you paint that gorgeous wood?”, and don’t worry, I asked myself that too! But I just knew I wouldn’t be happy if I kept the natural wood and am so happy with the decision I made. The dresser fits in perfectly in my bedroom and it is such an interchangeable piece that I can use anywhere in my home.
