Casual Summer Tablescape Blue Gingham and Green

Our Summer Festival Blog Hop is in full swing this week and we couldn’t be more excited! Today we will be sharing our casual summer tablescape blue gingham and green.

Our sweet friend Kendra of Joy in Our Home is super organized and puts these seasonal hops together for our group. We can tell you firsthand that it is a lot of work and we are very grateful! Jenn and I created a casual summer tablescape blue gingham and green.

Let’s Be Casual

Being that there was a holiday we had the good fortune of finally being able to spend some time together. It was exciting to put this table decor together in just a few minutes. Summer’s are definitely casual around here and we didn’t want anything too fussy.

Our inspiration kickoff piece was these cute blue gingham appetizer plates. They came from HomeGoods, and a set of 8 was just $5.99. Full disclosure – they are melamine!

The bright green plates are too! They were on clearance awhile back for just .50 cents each. Our napkins remind us of weathered blue jeans.

Wicker and rattan just scream “summer” to us. The placemats fit the bill perfectly for our casual summer theme. Aren’t the napkins rings cute? They were a gift from my dear friend CoCo.

It Doesn’t need to be fancy

We made the place cards with a piece of scrapbook paper. All we did was cut it into two different sizes using the colorful front and the white back.

Using a blue ink pad and and a stamp set, we added each name to the white tags.

After using a hole punch, blue and white baker’s twine was wrapped around vintage cobalt bottles at each place setting.

Sadly, our hydrangeas are about over – except for one plant that has some shade.

 

These cute wicker wrapped bottles were on clearance for just $2.00 each! It pays to decorate late in the season LOL.

Being that there are not that many hydrangea flowers left on the bush, we clipped a couple of tree limbs for filler and added a bit of babies breath.

You know how much we love our straws!

The green moss just seemed to fit right in at the center of the table.

We have had this Villa runner for quite some time now.

Jenn and I both agreed how we liked the wildflower look of our arrangements. Plus, anything looks good in vintage milk glass 🙂
