Easy Fall Sunflower Centerpiece

When I think of Fall, I envision pumpkins, apples and sunflowers. When I found an inexpensive bunch of faux flowers, I knew that I wanted to create an easy Fall sunflower centerpiece.

I am by no means a florist or floral arranger. One thing is certain for me. When using faux flowers I want them to look as real and authentic as possible.

I purchased this bunch of sunflowers last year for about $2.00. While the stems and leaves are obviously fake, the sunflowers look very real. My friend Linda even had to touch them because she thought that they were the real deal.

These are the steps that I took to create this easy fall sunflower centerpiece.

  1. Choose the sunflowers
  2. Remove all of the leaves
  3. Using wire cutters, cut each stem off of the bunch
  4. Lay out all of the flower stems and check that they are approximately the same length
  5. Gather greenery and embellishments that look authentic
  6. Find a container that you want to create your centerpiece in
  7. Add some trailing greenery for interest
  8. Next add the sunflowers
  9. Add real twigs

Voila!

Step back and admire your work. That’s what I did, and I was fairly pleased with myself LOL

To create a centerpiece for my dining room table, I started with a wicker tray. I added the flower arrangement as well as a vintage wicker bottle and a wooden candlestick.

The texture of all of these elements work so well together.

Jenn recently gifted me this wicker bottle. Fortunately, it even has its original top!

This beauty now graces my dining room table. It is the perfect fall decor.

I have had a bouquet of faux sunflowers on my kitchen table. They are in a tall tin pitcher and flanked by two golden yellow candles and set on a yellow a runner of similar colors. Love it but will probably switch out for something with bittersweet, acorns and wheat for Oct with a few little pumpkins tossed around.

  2. This is a great simple arrangement, anyone can tackle. LOVING your sunflowers and the lighter green keeping it more mellow! Hugs, Sandi

  3. Wonderful arrangement that gets me in that Fall Feeling.
