Well another week has gone by for the One Room Challenge and can I just say that things aren’t quite going to plan. Earlier this week I was literally sitting on the closet floor about to get in the fetal position screaming “whyyyyy?” if that tells you anything. My great idea to add another hanging rod to the room just wasn’t working. And what makes it even more frustrating is that it’s just a closet…it shouldn’t be this hard. So I have stepped back from the design debacle I am currently facing and decided to instead avoid the situation and do some retail therapy. You know, to purchase accessories for the closet that is realistically only about 25% done.

The closet unfortunately still looks the same as last week

With that being said, I am so happy I did do some shopping because I have found some great stuff that I know will look amazing in the closet!

Aren’t these antelope hooks adorable? They’ll be perfect for hanging scarves, purses, or even necklaces on.

And then I couldn’t pass up this awesome antelope head I found at Hobby Lobby…I have the perfect spot in mind.

Then at Homegoods, always our favorite, I found so many great items. This orb made out of keys has to be my fave. It’s more brassy than I would like, but I’ve got a way to change it, which we’ll share with you later.

I also found some other great decorative items we can use throughout, like this mirrored tray and these awesome copper candle holders.

I may not be as far along as I’d like, but I am excited to get it all done so I can start to put in all of my new found accessories. This weekend is definitely going to be a long one to get as much done as we can, but I’m confident we’ll be weekend warriors. Wish us luck!

Also, be sure to visit Calling it Home to see everyone else’s progress.

  1. I know that you have had challenges, but keep going! I know you can make it happen!

  2. Um, that retail therapy session led to some ridiculously good finds!!! So sorry the rods aren’t cooperating, but I’m a little glad I’m not the only one that has sat on the floor of a closet screaming WHY???? Now that you’ve had a break from the design/install work, I bet it will come right together when you get back to it.

You can do it! I know that you and your design team (Mom) will make great strides this coming weekend, and I can’t wait to see the end result. Super accessory finds!! That key orb is so unique. I would have snapped that up, as well. Happy creating this weekend.
    Embrace the process. :)))
