Woodland Owl Christmas Wreath

I will admit that this is the first time I have ever attempted to make a wreath, and I was definitely nervous that it wouldn’t turn out.  Mom and I kept joking that I needed to make it sooner rather than later in case it was a major fail, haha!  Knowing our luck I would have waited until the last minute and it wouldn’t turn out and we would be scrambling to pull something together.  But all in all I am so happy with how my woodland owl Christmas wreath turned out and it was a lot easier to do than I thought it would be.

I didn’t want to embellish the wreath too much, but I did want to add in some elements to give it character.  Lucky for me the only wreaths that Michael’s had left included pine cones and was 50% off, so that was definitely a win!

I am really into gold this year, as well as rustic elements and owls.  I am using owls in practically all of my decor this year 🙂

I just used wire and started with placing the burlap bow, since that was the largest part of the wreath.  Mom is so skilled with making bows, a talent I have yet to achieve.  I love this ribbon we found with the bells on it.

I then placed the owls where I thought they should go…

Afterwards I just started adding the gold ornaments where I thought they would look best and filling in gaps.  I absolutely love how it turned out!

From someone who has never made a wreath before, you really should give it a try.  You’ll be surprised with how easy it is and how great you’ll feel after creating some of your own Christmas decor.
