Who doesn’t love a rich, thick and decadent chocolate sauce? I am sharing my foolproof, perfect hot fudge sauce.

Last week I was cleaning out my kitchen pantry. I try to do this once a quarter to not only clean, but to also identify items that are close to their expiration date. This way I am not being wasteful and I can get creative with how to use these pantry items. On this particular clean-out, I had a couple of cans of sweetened condensed milk. I used one can in my no-churn vanilla ice cream recipe. The other can was used for this perfect hot fudge sauce.

Vanilla ice cream just cries out for some hot fudge sauce and I am happy to accommodate! Previously I have shared my mom’s easy chocolate sauce recipe. It has different ingredients with similar results.

This recipe uses semi-sweet chocolate chips. Other recipes call for cocoa powder or dark chocolate. Chocolate chips are more readily available and they were in my pantry.

Do not over-cook as the sauce will be thick and lumpy.

Anticipation

Look at how thick and silky this hot fudge sauce is. I like storing it in these pretty French lidded jars.

My favorite way of serving perfect hot fudge sauce is over vanilla ice cream. It is also delicious drizzled over cake or fresh fruit. Or licked right from the spoon. LOL

Enjoy every single bite!

You can easily reheat the sauce over low heat.

I hope that you have been inspired to make this recipe. Let me know how it goes!
