Hey there …we hope y’all are doing well and we are about to make your day even better! Did you know that this is American Chocolate Week? What?! Well, neither did we 🙂 But give us a reason to celebrate anything and we are on board, especially to celebrate chocolate! Consider this our good deed by providing you with this Public Service Announcement and permission granted to eat as much chocolate as you wish 🙂
You can start by making this super delicious recipe of my mothers’…Easy Chocolate Sauce and all you need is 3 ingredients to make your very own!
This chocolate sauce is delicious over ice cream, pound cake or served with fruit.
Ingredients
- 4 oz. bittersweet chocolate broken into pieces. I used 60%.
- 1/3 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
Melt chocolate in a double broiler. I used a medium saucepan with about 3 inches of water in it and heated it on medium high heat. I then placed a Pyrex bowl on top of the pot. It is very important to not let the water boil or get into your chocolate mixture.
After the chocolate pieces have melted, add the vanilla and heavy cream and mix well.
Take the bowl off of the heat.
https://2beesinapod.com/easy-chocolate-sauce-just-3-ingredients/My mom would whip up this chocolate sauce when I was a little girl. She would make it specifically for vanilla ice cream and we considered it such a treat. Envision the best hot fudge sundae that you ever had – and this sauce is better than that! We felt so special when she would make it for us.
Here’s what you need:
I started with 4 ounces of dark bittersweet chocolate…
…break the chocolate into pieces.
Create a stove top double broiler. Use a medium sized pan filled with 3-4 inches of water and set on medium heat. I added a Pyrex bowl to the top and placed the chocolate pieces inside. Make sure that the chocolate doesn’t get too hot too quickly or it will seize up…and you can kiss this decadent sauce goodbye 🙂
After the chocolate is melted…
…add 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.
And add 1/3 cup of heavy cream.
That’s it! Just that easily and quickly. This sauce is so delicious, you will want to put it on everything!
My favorite way to serve it is on ice cream but it is also fabulous on pound cake or fresh fruit.
Strawberries and chocolate are hard to beat!
I truly hope you give my mother’s chocolate sauce a try…you won’t be sorry! Happy American Chocolate Week! I’m off to do some more celebrating 🙂
