A few weeks ago my friend and I were talking about eating healthier, as you do when it’s the New Year, and she told me that I had to make this recipe. I was skeptical…there are only 5 ingredients and they all sounded great until I got to the last one – Flaxseed. Whomp whomp! Definitely not my cup of tea, but she insisted that I had to try it. And man was she right…this recipe is sooo good and really fills you up because it is packed full of protein and fiber.
All you need are old fashioned oats, peanut butter, chocolate chips, agave nectar, and ground flaxseeds. And the best part is that you don’t have to bake it! The original recipe calls for honey, but I prefer agave. I also like to use mini chocolate chips for my recipe.
All you have to do is pour all of the ingredients into one bowl and mix together…
The great thing about this recipe is that that you can make it your own…you can add dried fruit, dark chocolate, etc. You can use almond butter or maybe even PB2 if you want to reduce some of the fat.
Once you mix all of your ingredients together, you’ll want to put it in the fridge for about 30 minutes to make it easier to roll your no bake protein bites. And, once you roll your bites, they will stay fresh in the fridge for a week! I love to make a batch on Sunday to help me stay on track for the week.
These are the perfect snack to have during the day or even for dessert, as the chocolate chips help me with my sweet cravings. Give them a try…you won’t be disappointed!
