With Christmas fast approaching, it always gets me excited to make one of my favorite festive special bevs…Moscow Mule. Don’t y’all love a good one? I think it’s a combination of the drink itself, as well as the adorable copper mugs. I am ashamed to say that up until this point I did not have my own copper mugs, but on a recent trip to Homegoods, I spotted some hammered copper ones that I knew I had to have.
I wanted to create a cute Moscow Mule station in my bar area for a recent dinner party we had. If you remember from a few weeks back, I shared my top finds from the Dollar Store. One of those finds was great black and white plaid duct tape that I wanted to incorporate into my Christmas décor somehow.
I started to think about what I could do and when I saw the copper mugs, I had an epiphany. What if I made a DIY plaid tray to go with my Christmas Moscow Mule station? I went to Michaels and found this great tray for about $5…and actually it was a combo pack, so I have another tray I can use for a future project.
I painted the tray with metallic gold spray paint to really make the copper mugs pop and I just love how the Moscow Mule station turned out!
I got these marquee lights at TJ Maxx for a great price over the summer in our initials. They were the only two left and were sitting next to one another on the shelf…I had to get them!
Doesn’t the hammered copper just look so good? And I love the handle!
I got that skeleton key bottle opener as a stocking stuffer a few years ago…someone knows me well 🙂
I loved using this breadboard turned chalkboard to add some rustic charm…
What I also love about Moscow Mules? They are easy to make!
All you need is:
- 2 oz. of Vodka
- Ginger Beer
- Lime (one slice in the Moscow Mule and one for garnish)
That’s all…and maybe some ice to make it cold 🙂 What types of festive special bevs do y’all like? We’d love to hear them!
This Moscow Mule station is so cute Jenn! Love the way you gave the tray a fresh new feel. I’m crazy for the black and white plaid. Hugs, CoCo
Thanks so much CoCo! I’m mad for plaid too 🙂 xo, Jenn
I have some mugs on my Christmas list. Will definitely try this recipe if I get them…or even if I don’t 😉!
I hope Santa is good to you Angie and gets you some! xo, Jenn
I’m a sucker for trays of all kinds. Love this classic and inexpensive transformation of a plain wooden tray.
