Well, it’s only four more days until the big day. Raise your hand if you’re ready. As much as I would love to tell y’all that I am 100% complete, I can’t. I’ve been slightly derailed the past couple of days because I’m sick. Today I plan to travel an hour into town and finish up the little bit that I have left to do. On the home-front I am 100% ready. Recipes are laid out, grocery shopping is done, baking is complete and all of the family favorites are on the list. We celebrate every Christmas Eve with a nice dinner followed by dessert. I usually make my favorite dessert cocktail – Brandy Alexander.
Brandy Alexander’s are easy to make and they are creamy and delicious. The creme de cocoa and the white chocolate shavings add a light choclately flavor.
Here’s how I make them…
Ingredients
- 2 Cups of premium vanilla ice cream. Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla
- 3 TBS clear creme de cocoa
- 3 TBS brandy
- White Chocolate
- Fresh Nutmeg
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a blender.
Mix until thick and creamy
Pour into martini glasses
Top with white chocolate shavings and freshly grated nutmeg

The alcohol is not overpowering at all.
I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that all of the adults love this Brandy Alexander dessert cocktail.
Typically we triple the recipe for the ease of time.
Feel free to add as much white chocolate and nutmeg as you wish.
We are definitely a more-chocolate-please group! I tend to hold back on adding too much nutmeg.
To create the chocolate shavings I used a cheese slicer. I allow the chocolate to warm up a little bit in my hand first for easier cutting. Another one of our fave dessert cocktails is a Let it Snowtini – you can get that recipe HERE.
Have you had a Brandy Alexander before? You won’t be disappointed with this recipe…I promise.

If you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping yet, don’t fret. We have plenty of time, right?
Just the name alone, Brandy Alexander, makes me think I should be drinking this with elbow-length gloves on and my hair up in a chignon. Plus, who can resist any cocktail that has a lovely bit of cream in it?
