Happy December! We think today is the perfect day to officially kick-off the Christmas holiday season. Have y’all started to decorate yet? More than likely you have already completed your fabulous home decor! We have each been feverishly putting the final details on our homes. The workshop is cranking out crafts and handmade gifts, the kitchen is testing a couple of new recipes…and we need a few elves to help us clean up the messes that we’ve created š
This week we have teamed up with four other bloggers so that you’ll receive five times the inspiration! Each day this week we will showcase a different theme…and today is recipes!!
So grab your hot chocolate or beverage of choice, sit back and relax and read all about today’s recipes.
Here’s how we made them:
Ingredients
- Baker's Joy baking spray
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 extra large egg beaten
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 TBS unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
- 8 TBS unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 2 donut pans well.
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter and vanilla. Stir in the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients just until combined - do not over-mix.
Spoon the batter into the balking pans, filling each cup a little more that 3/4 full. Bake for 17 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then tap the donuts out onto a sheet pan.
For the topping, melt the 8 TBS of butter in an 8 inch sautƩ pan. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Dip each donut first in the butter and then in the cinnamon sugar, either one side or both sides per your preference.

These are special donut pans that allow you to bake the donuts instead of the traditional fryingā¦therefore creating a healthy donut, right š

Oh, I am making these soon! But a question for you – I’ve never seen a donut pan before (and obviously I don’t own one.) Can these be made in a muffin tin instead? What do you suggest as a pan substitution, please? Thanks!
