Finally – visible progress has been made on the blue and white bathroom makeover. This is week 5 of the One Room Challenge.

Each week we have been challenged by so many setbacks with our blue and white bathroom makeover. You can catch up with our past posts here WEEK 1     WEEK 2     WEEK 3     WEEK 4 . It feels so good to be able to accomplish a lot of big projects this week. The guest bathroom is actually starting to look like our vision board.

Navy and White Bathroom Makeover - One Room Challenge Week 1

If you are not familiar with the One Room Challenge™ this is how it works. It was created by Linda of Calling it Home several years ago and it has mushroomed into the fabulous bi-annual challenge that it currently is.

Within the next few weeks we will completely makeover one room from top to bottom. Every Thursday we will give you a progress report and let you know how we are doing. You will not only get to see our progress updates, but of lots of other designers as well! On May 10th we will all have the big reveal of our magnificently completed spaces. The featured designers post on Wednesdays and design bloggers like us will post on Thursdays.

Also we are thrilled and fortunate that Media Partner House Beautiful  is a sponsor of this challenge.

I will be sharing tutorials with you very soon for all of these projects. Today I am just showcasing the new additions – like this mirror.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Previously, this mirror was brown and hung in my foyer.

I painted it white and it fits perfectly in the bathroom.

Bright White Countertop

Remember when I shared with you that my 64″ countertop was not a standard size? When I started searching for a new one, the price tags were outrageously high. I didn’t want to make a rash decision. Some of you had great suggestions with alternative ideas. As you can see, I “painted” my countertop. It turned out great and I will be sharing all of the details soon!

I’m just thrilled that it is now bright white!

Tiled Wall

You might also notice the new tiled wall! The Aspect Peel and Stick Tiles look fabulous. They were easy to add and they look great in glass Frost. That hole in the wall above the mirror is there because I took down the old light fixture and installed the new one.

New Light Fixture

It’s now about 12 inches higher on the wall.

It has three bright white globes that hang down, hence the reason to move the fixture higher.

Now if I just had a pretty brass faucet LOL.

As you can see below, I need to cut a few of the glass tiles to fit in special places.

Another accomplishment this week was the painting of this cabinet. Again, I will be doing a full post about this…but this is a kitchen cabinet that I purchased on clearance at Lowe’s. It has a shelf too so it will be perfect for towels or displays. Right now it just needs another coat of paint.

AND…these are bad cellphone pics, but I finally started painting the tile floors and shower yesterday! This is just after one coat of paint.

Whew…I’m sore and exhausted but it is worth it! This has been a big week! It feels so good to cross so many things off of the to-do list. Next week is the final reveal EEK! Can’t wait to see it all come to light 🙂
