DIY Thanksgiving Place Cards and Copper Frames

In case you didn’t know, I like to make a big fuss for dinner parties, holidays and special meals with family and friends. I love any reason to celebrate. My feeling is that people take time out of their busy lives to spend time with us. The least that I can do is share my best gifts and make these occasions memorable and fun. As I mentioned in previous posts, my Thanksgiving table is going to be copper and blue tones. I’ve already created copper votives and clay tags for place cards. The next thing I wanted to make for the table  is DIY Thanksgiving place cards and copper frames. Now stay with me here. I know I created the clay tags for place cards. These framed place cards will be hold artwork and quotes.

I found these miniature frames at the dollar store. They are made of metal and I knew that they would look great after they were painted copper.

Once again, I used the Krylon Metallic Foil copper paint.

For the place card insert I turned to one of my own photographs.  I took this photo a couple of weeks ago when I chalk painted this acorn.

Did you know that there is an App called Waterlouge? It can turn any photograph into a watercolor – like this…

I love the colors and the effect. Next, I found a font that I liked and typed out words of meaning related to Thanksgiving. After printing them out I was ready to frame them.

Don’t they look great?

I can’t wait to actually put the whole table together for Thanksgiving. I think the shimmery copper and blue will look beautiful paired together! Each guest will get to take one of these home with them too!
