Magazine Rack Makeover into Towel Holder…

We seriously love how paint can easily transform something that needs a little TLC into a useful item in our household. Ā That’s what happened with this magazine rack!
I found it at Goodwill months ago and had no idea what I was going to do with it, but I knew it was a good find. Ā I knew all it needed was some paint and it would be good as new š In this photo the magazine rack looks a lot more desirable than it did in person š Also, this wood tone doesn’t gel with our bathroom decor.
After going through our “storage unit”, which is really mom and dad’s garage, I saw this piece that I had completely forgotten about. Ā Being that our home is a 1930’s cottage we don’t really have a lot of storage space. Closets are very few and very small – I’m always looking for creative storage. I guess all I needed was a little bit of time to figure it out, but I thought this magazine holder would be a great addition in my bathroom as a towel holder. We only have one bathroom in our house and it is super charming. Ā I already had the black chalk paint, which I knew would be perfect in my black & white bathroom , and I got to work.
After two coats of paint it was ready for the bathroom and some towels…it was such an easy project to do and looks great in our bathroom! Bath towels were taking up so much precious space in the hall closet. Now the towels are in this repurposed holder, not to mention it is so much more convenient for them to actually be in the bathroom.Ā We really love our black and white bathroom. The floor tiles are original to the house.
