I don’t know why, but lately I have been craving some good barbecue. This past weekend we had guests over and I thought I would try a new recipe out…slow cooker pulled pork. And when I say a new recipe I mean something I made up 🙂 I was a little nervous it wouldn’t turn out, but to my delight it did!
I know you typically use pork shoulder or butt for pulled pork, but I decided to use a pork tenderloin. Aside from that, here are other ingredients you’ll need.
The pork was so flavorful and tender! I was nervous with the tenderloin that it would be a bit more tough, but it shredded so easily when I took it out of the slow cooker. And really you can add as much or as little of the ingredients as you want depending on the type of flavors you prefer. I might add a little bit of cayenne pepper for some heat next time.
I think I’ve been craving a barbeque pork sandwich because of the awesome weather we’ve been having. With the warmer weather my taste buds immediately crave barbeque and watermelon…it must be a Southern thing 🙂
