One of the many wonderful perks of getting married is that you get some pretty awesome gifts that you may or may not have eventually bought for yourself.
We had recently gone to a potluck where someone brought a pasta salad dish made with zucchini noodles and it was delicious! Which is surprising for me because zucchini is honestly not one of my favorite things to eat. We knew we had to get our hands on one of these contraptions…so when my future sister in law, Becca, asked Kara and I what we really wanted for a gift, we immediately told her that we wanted something to make zucchini into noodles.
And Becca did not disappoint…we received this awesome gift that not only makes zucchini into noodles, but can also be used for potatoes, apples, onions, etc. We were so excited and couldn’t wait to use the Spiral Vegetable Slicer! On a side note, I also realized how sad it was that I was getting excited about a kitchen utensil…I’m definitely not in my early 20’s anymore, haha!
Fun and Easy to Use
But let me tell you, this thing is so easy to use! We used it to make zucchini noodles for our spaghetti and it was amazing…it only takes a few minutes to make, and it is also a great healthy and low carb option. We peeled the zucchini before using the slicer and then only had to boil the zucchini noodles in salted water for about 3 minutes.
I just lightly peeled the skin off the zucchini…
The slicer is also awesome because it takes the core with the seeds out!
Just like Magic
The noodles really do turn out like spaghetti noodles…
We can’t wait to use this for more fun recipes…after we realized how easy it was to use we were definitely online seeing what other great things we could make. I’m sure you’ll see some of those recipes in future posts, so stay tuned 🙂
This is going to be perfect for summer salads!
Yes it will be CoCo…so light and tasty 🙂
