Today’s recipe is a special bev, but of a different kind 🙂 I have recently gotten on a smoothie kick and I just about have one every morning. They are easy to make, fill me up, and are refreshing on these hot and humid mornings. Plus, they are easy to take with me to work when I’m running out the door.
My favorite one to make is a strawberry banana smoothie, but you can literally make it with anything. If I really want to be healthy I will add a little bit of kale as well.
Ingredients
- 1 banana, frozen
- 4 - 5 strawberries
- 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
- 1/4 cup 0% fage
- 1 tsp agave
Instructions
Add all ingredients to blender and mix until smooth.
https://2beesinapod.com/strawberry-banana-smoothie/When I get home from my weekly grocery shopping, I like to go ahead and cut up my bananas and add them to ziploc bags to place in the freezer. This way they are ready to go in the morning and I don’t have to add ice to the smoothie. I like to get the bananas as ripe as possible because this makes the smoothie a little sweeter.
I only put in about 4 strawberries, but you could obviously add more if you want. These can be either frozen or fresh.
I then add in my unsweetened almond milk (never thought I’d be a fan), Fage, and agave nectar, which I prefer over honey.
You just mix all of this together and you have a delicious and refreshing smoothie in minutes!
What kind of smoothies do you like to make? We’d love to try some new ones 🙂
5 years later and this smoothie still delivers. Great recipe!
