There is just something about having my home decorated for Christmas that makes me excited to get home from work and spend time relaxing. I think it’s a combination of the twinkling lights, shiny ornaments, and fraser fir fragrance, which is one of my faves. This year I was only going to decorate my living and dining rooms, but then when I was in the kitchen, it just seemed to lack the same spirit as the other rooms. So I decided that our kitchen mantel needed a little hint of Christmas, a decision I am so glad I made.

I pulled leftover Christmas decor I had and laid it all out on the kitchen island, trying to decide which items would fit best. I just started adding the decorations to the kitchen mantel until I attained the look I was in my mind trying to achieve. The mantel definitely has a rustic feel, which we all know is a typical go-to in my Christmas decor. It is simple, but really fits the space and gives me a little more joy when I’m cooking for the holidays.

Mom and I love to create little vignettes and they are honestly easy to do. It’s really trial and error and using items you have until you get a look you love. Here I took a wood slice, leftover buffalo check tree from the dining room, and a faux tree to create a cute little scene.

This fresh Christmas tree sign is actually a top to a gift box I found at HomeGoods! It was only $4 and creates a little pop on the mantel.

The Snowflake Sugar tin is another great find I got at HomeGoods. I love how vintage it looks! Then, I got an awesome deal on the snowshoe at an antique store a couple of weeks ago. Snowshoes these days seem to be pretty pricey. This one is damaged, but I didn’t mind, especially since it was such a great price. The snowflake is from Michael’s that I got last year on sale.

To finish off the mantel, I just added a little greenery that I stole from the back of my Christmas tree 🙂 Now that the house is pretty much all decorated, it is time to do some Christmas baking, watch more Christmas movies, and enjoy entertaining friends and family.
