One Room Challenge She Shed – Week 1

We’re are so excited that it is once again time for the One Room Challenge! In the Spring ORC, we did our Master Bedroom Closet, which you can see here. This time around, we have decided to tackle our outdoor she shed! It is definitely a big undertaking, but we know the results will be awesome. If you are unfamiliar with the One Room Challenge, we basically have 6 weeks to completely transform a space…eek! Each week you can follow along as we post our progress.
Here is the shed in its current condition. As you can see, this is where we store everything, so that is one of the hardest parts of this process. A lot of what is in the shed are items we brought from the old house that we clearly aren’t using. So one of the first steps is donating a lot of what is in the shed. The other problem is that household items we do want to keep, we have no idea where to put them! But we’ll figure it out 🙂
The shed is a bit of a mess and has also been our dumping ground for when we don’t know what to do with something. Hopefully the she shed will look somewhat like this once we are done with the process. We are going to paint the interior white to help brighten up the space. Then, we are going to create essentially a second living area. You’re unable to see it in the before photo because of all the clutter, but we also have a great built in shelf. We are going to use it for a bar area, which will be awesome for entertaining.
Our decor inspiration for the she shed is of course eclectic as usual, with a focus on farmhouse and vintage elements. We also wanted to add some pops of color, which will mainly be hues of blue. We’ll also be working on the exterior of the shed by creating a walkway and doing some landscaping, which it desperately needs.
