One of the first things we decorate for the spring season is the fireplace mantel. This is how we say “Hello Spring”.

Banishing the heaviness of winter has begun throughout the house. We like to start with the main focal point of the home which is our fireplace mantel. It is literally front and center, so it is the first thing you see when you enter the house. Thanks to our friend Amy of My Life From Home, because she has created this seasonal Decorate Your Mantel series. At the end of this post you can see what our design blogging friends created too! We love changing the mantel decor throughout the year. Welcome to our hello spring mantel.

Spring Mantel Decor

Actually the inspiration all came about because of this new pillow.

It’s the only new purchase made – everything else we already had on hand. There was just no way we could pass this cutie up when we spotted it at HomeGoods.

Nestled on the Painted Bench with the DIY Wooden Bead Garland with Tassels it looks perfect.

On the mantel shelf everything was kept simple and fresh with spring green.

Boxwood topiaries and green moss balls are perfect springtime decor.

Our vintage trophies look great paired with the greenery. This cute boxwood ball planter was a clearance purchase last year. For added height it was placed on top of the chalk painted books.

Large moss balls fit perfectly inside the large trophies.

Readers and friends inquire all of the time to ask where we purchased our tobacco stick stars (we each have one). They were purchased at a country roadside stand for just $15 each. Still kicking ourselves that we only bought two – insert forehead smack!

Have you decorated your mantel or shelf for spring yet? Little-by-little we are doing more and more in our homes. The weather can’t seem to decide what it wants to do. Some mornings we wake up to frost on the ground, other days it feels like we have jumped to summer LOL.

Tomorrow we will be sharing a spring coffee table vignette and other decor.

Lots of great ideas here; I always struggle with decorating the mantle. We have such huge ceilings that everything I put up there seems lost. Pinning for inspiration.
