Today we are showcasing another room in our Room by Room Summer Series hosted by our friend Amy from My Life From Home. We hope y’all have enjoyed seeing the different rooms in our homes, as much as we’ve loved showing you and giving you a little home tour each week. Today is all about bedrooms (other than the Master Bedroom, which will be next week!). I’m sharing my guest bedroom, or as we like to call it, the Sweet Suite.
In all honesty this was supposed to be the master bedroom, but of course on move in day we realized that our king mattress was not going to fit up the stairs. We couldn’t even get the queen box spring to fit, so we ended up having to go get this IKEA bed, which I really love in this space. Now our guests have a cozy and private retreat all to themselves. Lucky them 🙂
I love the skylights in this room to bring in more light. This room had been an attic and at some point was finished to create more living space.
Now this is one of my most favorite pieces I’ve ever purchased. I got it at Scott’s Antique Market years ago. It’s a part of a ferris wheel from Paris in the late 1800’s. It captured my rustic vintage heart the moment I saw it.
While I love the sweet suite, I do think it needs to be spruced up. I would love to get new bedding for up here and pillows. Maybe change up the color scheme a little bit. I do love the print above the bed that I got from HomeGoods.
And I always love a good painted sign…
The Nesting Place is a great read for guests too!
The room could definitely use a few changes here and there, but it’s such a great room. Maybe one day we’ll decide to move up there, but for now we’re okay with it being a space for our guests. There’s also a little nook off this room that I use as an office, but I’ll share that another day.
Be sure to come back next week for Master Bedrooms! Also, visit our other blogger friends below for other great tips and decor ideas for your guest or kids bedrooms.
Oh wow! The antique ferris wheel piece is stunning! Could that possibly be used as a headboard?
Love all the vintage touches you’ve added to this space Jenn. They’re fantastic against the crisp white and don’t even get me started on the ceilings…Love! Hugs, CoCo
That ferris wheel piece is amazing! I love pieces with a history and a story. And the natural light from your skylights is fantastic!
