Rustic Christmas Tree Decor Ideas for any home.

Hey friends! Yesterday I shared my blue and gold Christmas tree which is displayed in my living room. Today I am sharing Rustic Christmas Tree Decor. This second tree is displayed in our sunroom. Please forgive my somewhat dark photos as we have had a couple of dreary days here in Georgia.

What does rustic Christmas decor mean?

For me, rustic Christmas decor conjures up images of a relaxed, nature-inspired, festive scheme. It’s a style that’s not stuffy – that doesn’t take itself too seriously. This can mean neutral color palettes, simple, understated designs, and, most importantly of all, natural materials. I used an oversized nest as a tree topper.

In my experience, a “Rustic” Christmas tree is one that is decorated with a country theme. This generally means ornaments that have a homemade look to them or employ elements of nature. Burlap, wood, pine cones, hand-painted ornaments, or ornaments sewn from felt. Another element is fun and sentimental items.

This cute pillow was an Amazon purchase of just $4.99. Sadly it is sold out.

The “Joy to the World” pillow is from HomeGoods several years ago.

Earlier this week I shared these cute Vintage Santa Book Page Ornaments.

Rustic Christmas Tree Decorating

I always start a tree with the ribbon. First, I tucked in burlap Merry Christmas ribbon. I added miscellaneous ornaments that I have had for years.

Many of the handmade ornaments were gifted to me.

Other ornaments have been collected over many years. For example, this adorable bear was Jenn’s when she was little. I’ve given her most of her childhood ornaments for her own family tree. I couldn’t resist keeping a couple of the ornaments for my tree.

This penguin is a definite cutie.

Who doesn’t love furry mittens? The “baby it’s cold outside” mittens were a Dollar Spot purchase from Target many years ago. Remember when the Dollar Spot items were all priced at just a dollar? I miss those days.

Keep tree decor fun and whimsical

Another personal favorite is this miniature mailbox for letters to Santa. It was a gift from a friend, but I believe it was from the Magnolia line at Target.

Baby Bee, Everett loves the truck and trailer.

Hopefully, you have been inspired in some small way today. I can’t wait to see what you create.
