Whether we have an intimate Thanksgiving dinner, or a house-full of guests – we like to set a pretty table. Today we are sharing our rose gold and copper Thanksgiving tablescape.
Can you believe that today is the first day of November?! Where has the time gone? When we speak to family and friends, this seems to be the consensus of everyone. We all know that the next several weeks will fly by in a flash. Before our posts turn to everything-Christmas (beginning tomorrow) we wanted to share our Rose Gold and Copper Thanksgiving Tablescape.
Where do you start with a tablescape
- First, determine a theme. In this case, we are obviously getting ready for Thanksgiving. Other themes can be used for holidays, seasons, birthdays or anything you choose.
- Get inspired. You can look to your favorite bloggers, Pinterest or magazines.
- For us, china or dish patterns set the tone. Draw inspiration from the colors of your plates.
- Before we set the table, we create a table centerpiece as the focal point. Typically the same colors are used in the centerpiece as those of the china pattern.
- Gather your materials. Dishes, tablecloth, runner, napkins, glassware, etc.
- Have FUN! Mix and match colors, patterns and textures. There is no right or wrong here.
There are many shades of copper
For this tablescape, the inspiration came from the copper pitcher. It’s a definite favorite and has been used many times before. The purple/burgandy branches were clipped from our yard.
Feathers and faux eucalyptus were added for texture and interest.
On our recent family trip, we spotted these super cute khaki pom napkins. We knew that they would be perfect for our Thanksgiving table.
The dinner plates are vintage and purchased years ago at Replacements in North Carolina. Have you heard of this company? If you are in search of practically any dish or china pattern – start with Replacements. They will more than likely have it or will search for it. Replacements, Ltd. has the world’s largest selection of old & new dinnerware, including china, stoneware, crystal, glassware, silver, stainless, collectibles, Estate Jewelry and fine watches. Our 500,000-square-foot facilities in Greensboro, NC house an incredible inventory of tableware patterns, some over 100 years old!
The pattern is His Majesty by Johnson Brothers.
When we lived in North Carolina, we could easily visit often. They used to have a yard sale, which was like heaven to us. Bin after bin, after bin line up on the front lawn of their property. That was when we purchased these amazing plates for an incredible deal.
Last week we shared with you how to create these rose gold charger plates.
The rose colored hobnail pedestal bowls are from TJMaxx.
Speaking of vintage china – this turkey platter has been in our family for at least 90 years. There are no markings on the back of the plate. At one time a great-great aunt thought that it was Havilland Co. We truly have no idea, but cherish this family platter immensely.
We hope that you have been inspired in some small way today. What are your Thanksgiving plans?
