Fragrance in our homes is a must for us. Summertime conjures up images of fresh flowers, sunshine, citrus and relaxation. These summer inspired diffuser blends are some of our favorites!
Why use essential oils?
Essential oils can lift your mood and make you feel good with just a whiff of their scent. For some people they may even help alleviate the symptoms of various conditions. Essential oils are compounds extracted from plants. The oils capture the plant’s scent and flavor, or essence. Essential oils are obtained through distillation -by steam and/or water or cold pressing.
Why use a diffuser?
Simply put, an oil diffuser is a device that breaks essential oils down into smaller molecules, dispersing them into the air for a pleasant or calming effect, depending on the oil that’s been put into the diffuser. The diffuser’s job is to evenly disperse the particles at a comfortable concentration that’s easy to breathe and doesn’t overbear the room. All the while filling the air with moisture and beautiful fragrance.
Lavender and geranium are two of our go-to florals. They aren’t overpowering and they smell wonderful.
Grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime are perfect essential oils for the summertime.
Summertime herbs such as basil, spearmint or mint offer a bit of a savory, cooling blend.
If you like a bit of the woods, cypress or pine a great additions.
