Seasonal update with a Pink Floral Spring Mantel.

Decorating inspiration typically strikes when I least expect it. Sometimes it hits while taking a walk in nature. Other times it might be during a brainstorming session with Jenn or when out shopping with a friend. Here’s how my pink floral spring mantel came about.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit my bestie, Bambi, in Florida. Whenever she and I are together, you can be sure that there is shopping involved. We went to a new-to-me decor store. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but then I meandered through the rows and rows of artwork. Soon, I spotted this pink floral and chinoiserie beauty and I just knew that I had to have it!

This is the one

Artwork and decorative pillows are design jumping-off points for me. My master bedroom design started from a single piece of art. At the time, I wasn’t even really sure which room this beauty would be showcased in. It was too perfect for my home to pass it up. Trust me, I’ve learned over the years to not leave items like this behind. Usually it’s because I regret “the one that got away” as soon as I get home.

Keep it moving

Eventually, this pink floral art will grace my dining room. I rested it atop the mantel and I loved how it looked. Everything else came into place. The chinoiserie jars are always on my mantel. Two oversized white urns were unwrapped after our storage unit clean-out. Pink ranunculus and pussy willow are from my faux floral stash. Remember my tip – purchase faux florals that look as real and authentic as possible.

These stems will last for years to come.

Ginger chinoiserie jars were purchased a few years ago from HomeGoods.

I’ve had this miniature figurine for many years now. It was included in a $5 auction box. All that I’m sure of is that it is vintage and the bottom is simply marked “JAPAN”. If any of you has more information, I would love to hear it.

This spring mantel is perfectly colorful and cheerful. Who knew that pink and blue could pair so beautifully together?

I hope that you have been inspired in some small way today!
