Hey y’all…as promised, today I’m going to share another “new” area in the house…my new desk space. Some parts of downsizing have been a tad bit challenging. In our previous home we were fortunate to have two designated office and desk spaces. I need a space for client meetings and blogging. Being that this home is much smaller I needed to be creative as to where I could put a desk. Admittedly there was some trial and error…furniture was too big, space not large enough and one spot was way too dark. After a lot of measuring of walls and furniture, I finally figured out the perfect spot where I could eek out enough space for a desk without feeling crowded or stifled. It turns out that this little wall behind the french doors in the sunroom is the perfect spot!

I painted this table about 9 years ago and it used to grace the front door entryway. I couldn’t believe it when it nestled perfectly between the window and the french door.

I brought out my favorite collections and pieces and began decorating.

Do you remember this chair and pillow? I was thrilled that they work perfectly with the desk and in the sunroom.

The table isn’t as wide as a standard desk but it is definitely large enough to display a lot of my faves…feathers, antique inkwells and artwork.

It was easy to create this typography art by printing on a vintage book page. You can read how do to it right HERE.

This is one of my favorite inkwells…it’s called a tipper 🙂

I showed you in yesterday’s post how to create this super easy and inexpensive memo board. I love to look up and see vintage family photos and this inspiration fabric. I know it will get a lot of use as I add article clippings, other photos and ideas.

I was so excited to find this typography art with one of my favorite quotes. When I look up from my computer it is the first thing I see – such a great reminder as I pursue what I love!

This barn-wood frame and photo are my absolute faves. The picture is a sweet capture of my parents when my mother was expecting me – her first born. How perfect is this crown?

The vintage German allspice canister is perfect to hold pens.

Architectural salvage pieces are another decor favorite – especially when they look like this!

This Bee Happy art is actually a $2.00 notecard that I placed in a Dollar Tree frame.

It’s important to have business cards on hand for our clients.

My hydrangea plants are still going strong. I am grateful for their beautiful bounty!

Just so you know…this is what the space originally looked like.

I don’t mean to brag, but I’m pretty impressed with the transformation!

It feels so good to have this space complete. I love all of the light that comes in through the windows…and I occasionally see precious deer when I peek outside. It’s a great spot to create, dream and gain inspiration!

Until tomorrow…
