I’m excited to share with y’all my summer living room decor today! I may have also done a little of the entryway as well 🙂 We’ve been in our house for a year, which has just flown by. I can’t believe it has been a year already. When we first moved in, we had wanted our sofa to go a certain way in the living room, but after measuring we just didn’t think it would work. So we settled for the next best option.

Well after being invited by our friend Meg from Green with Decor to show our summer decor, it was the push I needed to change up our living room. The layout just wasn’t working. So, we decided to just try moving the sofa to how we had initially wanted it a year ago and y’all, it fits! I don’t know what we were thinking, but this new layout of the living is sooooo much better. It flows better and makes the room feel much larger.

We’ll start with the entryway on our tour…come on in!

I found this piece of furniture for an amazing deal at a consignment shop nearby. It just fits the space perfectly.

Lucky for me, mom found this awesome wooden bowl at none other than HomeGoods…our home away from home. I love going to the garden/outdoor section there and getting bags of vase fillers.

This secretary is one that we painted several years ago and is still one of my favorites. It’s also a great place to display fun little items and is easy to switch around when I’m getting bored with the decor or as the seasons change.

I’m still loving the gallery wall I did in the entryway. You can see how to do your own here.

To be honest this mantel is always a little tricky for me to decorate, especially since there are two shelves that need to be filled. I’ve tried only decorating the bottom part and the top looks so sad.

Summer Tour 083

I have several vintage family photos that are all throughout my house. In fact, I honestly don’t think I have any current or color photos displayed anywhere. I should probably work on that 🙂

I love the pop of turquoise on the mantel…

Y’all know how much we love decorating with books and vintage cameras. They really help fill the space.

This vintage spool table has served me well when decorating. I can always find a space for it and it always adds a little character to the room.

The space next to the entertainment center was looking a little bare and just by adding a house plant and small print, it made the area not seem so dull.

How cute is that pillow?! A fab find at Tuesday Morning…

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a small tour of my home. The colors we’ve used to decorate for summer are definitely soothing and happy colors. I truly find that my mood is instantly lifted when I walk through the door.

  7. Gorgeous Jenn! I’m glad you were able to get the couch to fit as you liked it to. We have such an awkward layout in our living room so I feel your pain with that one. The new piece in the entryway is lovely! I grew up with a piece similar, only it was a full dresser. I was so sad the day my family got rid of it. It was such a wonderful piece. Hopefully someone that appreciates such things, like you, found it and is now loving it too. Thanks for taking us on the tour! 🙂

  8. The turquoise accents on your mantel are great; and I agree that decorating both levels is probably really tricky!

  9. Love your home! What character your house has. The mantel is decorated perfectly, and the couch looks great in it’s new spot! Thanks for letting us in, friend!

  10. Such a beautiful foyer and living room Jenn! So many great finds and your fireplace is so pretty. Love the gallery wall and the painted secretary. Your new buffet fits perfectly too!
