Don’t y’all love it when an easy craft just comes together? I’ve been wanting to make this for a while now, but the project kept being put on the back burner. But after seeing how easy it was to do, I don’t know why I didn’t do it any sooner. I made my own galvanized ChristmasĀ tree tub to incorporate into my dĆ©cor this year and it only cost me the price of the tub…love it!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Galvanized Tub
  • Red Sharpie or Paint
  • Stencils (unless you’re extremely talented and can free hand)
We found a great local hardware store down the street that has become our new favorite spot. All of the tubs at our local hardware storeĀ had little marks here and there, but it adds to the charm…

Luckily for us, we already have a fairly large stash of different stencils we could use for this project.Ā And to be honest, I was only going to use the redĀ sharpie to help me outline the letters and then paint inside of them, but I decided to see how using only the sharpie would look. And to my surprise, I really liked how theĀ sharpie looked and decidedĀ not to use the paint, which helped save so much time!

Isn’t this just adorable? You can do all sorts of things with this idea and I plan to do more non-Christmas themed tubs and maybe even age the tub. But for this DIY project, I loved keeping the silver untarnished.

I just think the red on the galvanized tub really pops with the red ornaments…

This project took me less than an hour to do and because I didn’t use paint, it was dry instantaneously. I can’t wait to get the rest of the front porch put together, which I will be showing you next week. It’s definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

  5. That’s too cute! I am pinning it – I also love the fact that you mentioned stencils (I suck a free handing so I understand the idea). This would also be a good thing to make with a silhouette & vinyl. Nice work & thanks for sharing at Welcome Home Wednesday!
