DIY Wooden Farmhouse Compass

Hope y’all had a great weekend! It definitely went by way too fast and sadly can’t believe Monday is already here again. We went to Augusta and found some great thrifted deals! If you follow us on Instagram, you may have seen our InstaStories with all our great finds. It was a wonderful day!  Last week I shared with y’all my Farmhouse Back Door Entry and I said that I would be providing more details this week of one of the items on my little gallery wall. This DIY Wooden Farmhouse Compass, which is one of my favorite features, was also one of the easiest things I’ve ever re-purposed. You really do sometimes just have to keep your eyes open for inspiration to strike. This post contains affiliate links.

Repurposed wooden compass

Months ago we purchased these stools from Target, which have a farmhouse/industrial feel to them. I definitely couldn’t pass them up and they were a great deal!

I was breaking down the boxes, when I saw this at the bottom. It was clearly there for extra support for the stools and in all honesty they were so close to being put in the trash. But thankfully my DIY mind kicked into gear and I got the best idea. I thought it would be so cute to make this into a compass. The hard part was already done for me. So I gathered my weathered wood stain, white acrylic paint, and stencils to got to work.

The stain dried pretty fast, as did the paint, so the wooden farmhouse compass really didn’t take long at all to create. Like I said, it was one of the easiest little projects I have ever done. It has become one of my favorites too.

I love the way it looks on this little farmhouse inspired gallery way. It’s amazing where you sometimes find inspiration. Be sure to keep your eyes open! I know I will from now on.
