Jenn and I haven’t  shared our thrift store finds for quite some time now. Our lives are so crazy busy at the moment, it’s hard to find a spare minute to do the thrift store pilgrimage. Typically we like to make a day out of thrifting – visiting our favorite shops and looking for great deals. Do you do that? Fun, right?

The thrill of the hunt with the promise of discovering a hidden treasure is invigorating.

Typically, we have a few set things that we always look for:

  • Furniture – for our homes as well as for clients.
  • Trays – the perfect way to stage vignettes in any home.
  • Coffee table books –  especially related to home decor.
  • Dishes – inexpensive way to dress up tabescapes and holiday tables.

Beyond this list is anything that strikes our fancy in the moment and that is a good deal.

Thrift Store Finds. Great collection and inexpensive.

This week I made my way to my local Goodwill.

Great Deal Alert!

Right now my eyes are pealed for anything blue and white. I spied these pretty bowls buried on a shelf – there are six of them.

An added surprise was that these are from Bobby Flay’s line of cookware. All six bowls were thrift store priced at $2.00. After a quick search on Replacement’s website, I discovered that this pattern is Marbella – and they sell each bowl for $9.99!!

This wire basket is heavy – like wrought iron heavy. It was only $1.00. I will be making a visit to my local garden center to learn how to add plants to this – I think it requires moss but I am not sure what else. Do you have any ideas?

You know that I can’t resist a good tray. This vintage hammered aluminum tray is a beauty and for just $3.00 I couldn’t leave it behind.

Thrift Store Finds. Hammered aluminum trays are always a great find at the thrift store.

Overall, this was a fantastic thrifting week. Usually results vary with each trip. Sometimes it can be weeks of leaving stores empty handed – other times our excursions can produce a large haul. We have learned we just need to be patient and to make more regular visits. Inventory changes on a daily basis at most thrift stores.

  2. So many exciting finds ladies! I love it all especially that big basket. You could try moss or even coconut grass because both would be really pretty next to plants or flowers. Can’t wait to see what you do, CoCo

  3. Every time I’m in a second hand store or estate sale, I always keep my eyes out for things to add to my gallery walls. I love finding unique pieces to put on the wall, something that I may not be able to find anywhere else. So of course it’s all a game of luck!

So you can imagine my excitement after months and months of striking out when I found a new plate for my plate wall in the dining room!
