DIY Tea Towel Art

It’s amazing what you rediscover when you unpack moving boxes. Even though I have currently been moved into our vacation townhome for several months, there are still a ton of packed boxes in the garage. This is because these particular boxes were meant to go to a storage unit until a decision can be made as to where our next home will be. Somehow they ended up here instead of there and I finally got sick and tired of tripping over the clutter. Originally my idea was to unpack a couple of boxes each day, but then Organizing Fever struck – it’s a real thing. Before I knew it I had 21 boxes all unpacked inside the house! Crap was everywhere – kitchen counters, dining room table, living room floor – everywhere. I cleaned, purged and donated lots of clutter like it was my job. Get rid of the stuff!

Then…I got the phone call that my dad had taken a fall and badly broke his femur. Shattered is probably a better word. So, even though my house was in upheaval, Honey Bee and I got in the car and raced 2 ½ hours away. My dad has already had two surgeries and will now need to be transferred to a specialized rehabilitation facility where he can get physical therapy several hours each and every day. Suffice it to say there is a whole lot more to this story which I will share at a later date. Just know that this has been a very difficult time for our family.

Anyway…back to the DIY tea towel art. As I was unpacking boxes I found this new tea towel that I had forgotten about.

I truly got lucky with this .50 cent art canvas garage sale purchase. Only the outer plastic covering was stained. The canvas was in pristine condition.

This is a fun idea! I love tea towels. There are so many cute ones available, and to be honest I hate to actually use them in the kitchen. I like to keep them clean and perfect, therefore never using them. Thanks for this fun idea!
