One Room Challenge She Shed – Week 2

We are back for Week 2 of the One Room Challenge and can’t wait to share with you our progress on the She Shed. Last week we showed you our design plan for the space.
The first order of business was to completely empty out the entire shed and get the interior painted. As a reminder – this is what the she shed looked like before:
Yeah, we look like hoarders but that’s an issue for another day LOL. We had to find a new place to store all of our stuff. Now here’s what the shed looks like completely empty.
Big difference, right? The shed is actually quite large. We are so fortunate that it was already here when we bought the house last year. It was super clean and looked brand new. We knew as soon as we bought the house that we wanted this space to be an extension of the house and be retreat-like.
Here’s where the fun started. We wanted the entire interior to be painted bright white and were encouraged to use paint with primer already added. We chose the color of Nebulous. A GIANT thank you to John Kaiser and Sherwin Williams!!!
We knew this was going to be a big job so we rented a professional paint sprayer to make the painting a bit easier. It took us several hours to paint, but it was worth the work…
Can you guess how many gallons of primer and paint this space took? We were shocked that it took 10 gallons! The raw pine wood just kept soaking up the oil-based primer and paint.
It looks so much better now, don’t you think? We still have a lot of work to do, but this was one of the biggest projects to tackle on our list. It feels so great to have this part accomplished!

Wow, that’s impressive already! Good choice on getting the paint sprayer. It would take more than six weeks just for the paint job otherwise.

Just the white paint made a HUGE difference! This space is going to be so fantastic and I’m a wee bit jealous (OK, maybe not just a wee bit!). Can’t wait to see what next week brings.

Whoa! TEN gallons!?!?! That is a ton of work, but so worth it. It’s so bright now!
I painted an old chicken coop once…and I remember we got the 5 gallon buckets and I think we went through 4 of them. so 10 gallons, shows how much better paint is now…then in 1964. We didn’t paint the floor either..but sealed it. Great space you will have a ball, and not have to squint in the dark anymore either, Sandi
