12 DIY Master Bedroom Projects – DIY Housewives Series

We are super excited to partner with a fabulous group of 11 bloggers for a DIY Housewives Series. The first Wednesday of every month we will showcase posts from our archives that fit a specific DIY theme. You will get to experience all 12 projects at the end of each post. This month we are teaming up to share 12 DIY master bedroom projects.

We are sharing our most favorite makeover to date…the master bedroom closet. We are very proud of this space as we created and constructed it entirely on our own. Jenn’s 1901 Victorian home didn’t have a master bedroom closet, so we created one from what was previously a side porch. This post is from the One Room Challenge which seems most appropriate as we embark on a new 6 week challenge beginning tomorrow. Come back to see which room we are doing – you don’t want to miss it!

We needed a very large dresser to fill the wall in the newly designed closet. The area is completely visible from the master bedroom and we of course wanted it to be pretty :) After searching high and low, we found this office credenza that fit the bill perfectly.

The credenza had an orangey finish and it weighs a ton, but we knew we could make it beautiful.

It looks fabulous in the master bedroom closet. We painted it in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Pure White. The handles and hardware were spray painted in copper. You can view the entire makeover here.

The dresser holds lots of clothing and it is a great space to stage outfits for work and going out. We did lots of other DIY projects in the room too…the hanging light fixtures, industrial copper pipe rods, faux copper shelf and more!
