Hey y’all..Happy Friday! If you have a few spare minutes, you might want to try this project this weekend. You know that makeovers are our most favorite projects – instant gratification and total transformation. We especially love when these projects are quick, free or inexpensive. As I am updating my house, the budget is first and foremost on my mind. I have had to get very creative with furniture, artwork and decor. I already had lamps but they were no longer my style and didn’t fit in with my overall design. Here is how I remedied that with this Easy Lamp Makeover!

As you can see, this is a perfectly good lamp – actually I have a pair of them. I’ve had them for over 9 years and I just wanted to banish the black and gold for an updated, fresh look.

I love the design of the base…

I used plastic grocery bags and painters tape to protect the harp and switch at the top. I used a second bag to protect the cord. I used a cardboard moving box to protect the sidewalk from overspray.

I had this pretty blue spray paint in my stash from another project. Being that this brand was primer and paint together I only needed one coat of spray to cover each lamp completely. Remember when you use spray paint, use a light hand to avoid drips.

Drumroll please! So much better 🙂

I changed out the gold/brown shades for a pair of these bright white ones. Such an improvement and they make the room look brighter!

They also compliment the new color palette of the house.

These vintage binoculars are from the 1940’s and still have the original case.

The gorgeous white coral is from our Florida vacation at Amelia Island. My bestie Bambi helped me pick it out 🙂

This makeover took just minutes to achieve the new look. The longest part was the 10 minutes of drying time for the paint. I promise you that this is a very easy makeover.

I’m so glad that I could repurpose the lamps and give them this new look. It makes me smile every time that I look at them. I hope that you are excited as I am LOL!

Jenn and I are excited because we each have fun plans set for the weekend. Jenn is currently in Brooklyn, New York for a much deserved girl’s weekend. I will be having a lot of fun in the sun – going to a sunflower farm, the farmer’s market and hopefully out in the boat! We have crossed off a lot of items on our Summer Bucket List and we will be able to mark off a lot more this week! What are you up to?

Until Monday…

XO~Vicki
