Everyday I sit across from our coffee table at some point during the day or the evening. It didn’t occur to me until yesterday that the decor was still full-blown Spring and it is already mid-Summer. Do you ever do that? Become immune to your own home decor?

I’ve been so focused on other rooms in the house that I completely missed changing out the coffee table decor. It’s not really a big deal, except for the fact that the Spring table had a nest and some bare branches and looked like this:

Spring coffee tabletop using a natural birds nest, aqua vintage Mason jars, antique inkwell and mossOkay…I forgot there was an egg too! And bird pillows. LOL

I purchasedĀ a new sisal rug for the family room so I decided to keep the coastal vibe going in the house. I gathered up coastal items from the house and got to work.

I really love this wood tray that I have used in many rooms of the house. It’s an antique cutlery tray that I purchased many years ago for $5.00! It is perfectly aged and looks great on top of the chest that we use as our coffee table.

I displayed more of my beach glass collection with a starfish from our vacation in this cloche. The bottle is a find that was buried in my grandparents backyard.

The pillow fabric is actually from curtains that I had made for Jennifer in her old house. When she moved I reclaimed the curtains šŸ™‚

The wooden tray is a little beat-up which makes me like it more.

The indigo blue pottery was a clearance find at the garden center. I don’t mind the chipped edges – it adds instant character.

I couldn’t forget about updating the space for our Perfect Boy, Starbuck. There was plenty of fabric to freshen up his space too. Yes, he does get to sleep like a King in his wrought iron bed. After all, he does live with me – Queen Bee šŸ™‚

I’m so happy that I finally noticed that I needed a decor refresh. It makes such a difference to move a few items around and adds new energy to the family room. Are you changing up your spaces?

Until tomorrow,

XO~Vicki

    1. Thanks Angie! The lamps are so rustic looking and they came from our fave shopping stop HomeGoods! The pillow change really softened the look of the leather. And our Perfect Boy is perfectly happy in his new bed. There where he is sleeping right this very minute šŸ™‚

  3. Love it. Your couch is the mate to my hubby’s favorite leather chair. So comfy and love the vintage look to the leather. Love the vignette so charming and great for a summer display.
