Well…today is Jennifer’s big day! It’s hard to believe that her wedding has been in the planning for almost a full year – although Jennifer has been planning for this moment her entire life!

For me, this photo fully symbolizes this wedding day. Jennifer was in kindergarten…and for Halloween all she wanted to be was a bride. She helped me pick out the fabric, tulle and lace so that I could make her costume for her.

SCAN0017Naturally during the time I was fashioning her vision she and I had lots of time to talk about weddings and love. I distinctly remember one conversation in particular that went like this:

Me:    So, who do you think you’re going to marry?

Jenn: Daddy.

Me:    Daddy? Why do you want to marry him?

Jenn: Because I like the way he plays outside with me and he has a good job.

Me:    Well what about Mommy? Where will I be?

Jenn: You will have to live with us…we need a good cook!

So, there you have it :))

Jennifer is my only child. Her dad and I only had one chance to get it right :). I am so proud of the woman that she has become. She is loving, kind, loyal and warm hearted. Almost all of Jennifer’s friendships have been maintained 10-23 years…these are her “girls” that will be standing by her side today.

I can’t write much more than this…tears of joy are too many. I just wanted Jennifer to know…Mommy loves you and I will be more than honored to be your cook.
