I know we’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again…we love Fall!  And where better to spend some time during this season than in the mountains of North Carolina, specifically Asheville.

Kara (honey bee two) and I decided this was where we wanted to go this year for our vacation.  It’s close to Atlanta and there is so much to do there.

We rented this cute little cabin, that was only 5 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway and 15 minutes to Downtown Asheville!

There were five main things we wanted to do while in Asheville…eat, drink, shop, enjoy nature, and relax.  And I’m proud to say we did a lot of all of them!

We had perfect weather and went on the Parkway several times to either just drive and enjoy the sites or to go hiking.

When we weren’t enjoying nature we were shopping and man does Asheville have some great antique shops.

Tobacco Barn was one of my favorites because they had so much stuff to look at.  You could really spend an entire day here…

Love all these crates at Tobacco Barn Antiques in Asheville...especially the Johnnie Walker box.

I also loved the Screen Door and it was hard not purchasing a million items…

You also have to go the Mast General Store where I truly do feel like a kid in a candy store.

There was definitely not a shortage of food while we were in Asheville and it was all soooo good!

We had a great dinner at Bouchon…loved the special dip they had for their fries.

We had to wait in line at 12 Bones Smokehouse, which is extremely common, but man was it worth it…

Asheville is also known for their craft beers and we made sure to try several of them 🙂 Some of our favorite breweries were Hi-Wire and Green Man.

All in all this was one of the best trips we had ever taken…it also didn’t hurt that while we were in Asheville we got engaged!!!

  1. Hi there. My fiancé and I are going to Asheville for our honeymoon in January. I noticed the cute little cabin y’all had posted on here. I was just wondering if you remembered the name of it or the company you rented it from. Thank you! 🙂

Hi Kristen! Asheville will be such a great place to honeymoon! We found the cabin off of VRBO and here is the listing of the cabin we stayed at: http://www.vrbo.com/493277. It was a great location, about 5 minutes from the Parkway and 15 minutes to downtown. I would definitely recommend it! I hope this helps and congratulations 🙂
